Portfolio management knowledge development presentation

London on a cool November evening, but Euan Dean got a warm welcome with a fascinating presentation on how portfolio management is being implemented in ID Business Solutions (IDBS).

As a leading global provider of advanced software for R&D they provide the technology and domain expertise to enable their client R&D teams to capture, manage, share and exploit structured and unstructured data. Based in the UK, they have over 350 staff worldwide serving 50,000 researchers in 26 countries. Effective portfolio management is essential to manage their diverse range of projects, programmes and initiatives across the world. Euan explained how IDBS have successfully implemented portfolio management and coloured his talk with interesting anecdote. The group of about 50 SIG members kept him on his feet with many questions and took away a wealth of information and good ideas.

As a 'supporting act' the committee outlined our strategy initiative and discussed progress being made with the help of our volunteers.  Inspired by the discussions several new volunteers are now helping us drive this forward!
