Portfolio Management SIG 2014 AGM and "Managing a dynamic drug development portfolio
During the AGM, the current SIG strategy and future plans were outlined, with a request for volunteers to help the committee bring these to fruition and to validate the findings and conclusions. The next step is a workshop being held on 8 July to review current ideas and to analyse and exploit the outputs from the Portfolio Management & Benefits Management Conference held in March.
The following were elected as committee members: Daryush Abbasi, David Dunning, Mike Florence, Steve Leary, John T MacGregor, Ruth Moyes and Stephen Parrett.

Following the AGM, John Bennett presented 'The challenges of managing a dynamic drug development portfolio'. His enthusiastic audience received a comprehensive and entertaining presentation from John, who demonstrated his extensive experience within the pharmaceutical industry and the role of portfolio management PfM), with many insights and ideas on how he and his clients make PfM work in practice. Balancing high risk investments with uncertain returns across a 15 year life cycle brings many challenges and John's talk generated a lot of discussion, which continued after the meeting.
