Profile of a volunteer - Katie Ball

Name: Katie Ball
Why did you decide to become a volunteer with APM?
I’ve many years experience of project and programme management as well as specialising in knowledge management in a number of roles. In my experience they are usually seen as totally separate worlds - I want to show how the two can blend together. I also like opportunities to network with peers who may either agree or disagree with my view.
What benefits have you gained from being an APM volunteer?
I’ve a passion for sharing knowledge and helping people grow personally and professionally. Volunteering has allowed me to meet a wide range of people to share my knowledge with! I’ve also learned a lot working with my fellow committee members.
What would your top tip be to an APM member looking to become a volunteer?
Leave your ego at the front door and maintain a sense of humour.
