APM Conference 2016Enabling delivery of complex programmes to time, cost and scope is a skill that requires experience and extensive knowledge. We are pleased to announce that two industry experts who have delivered on major capital projects will be addressing delegates at the multi-award winning APM Conference, sponsored by  20|20 Business Insight.

Expanding on the theme of project management as a ‘world-class’ profession, our expert speakers will focus on one of three different streams during the conference to be held on 21 April 2016 – individual, organisation or profession - ensuring a rich choice of sessions relevant to the industry.

Under the profession stream strategy director Alistair Kirk will present on High Speed 2 and the opportunities it will bring to the UK. Alistair will also discuss the management approach the organisation utilised in order to ‘bring structure to complexity’, which is aimed at ensuring world-class outcomes for the HS2 project.

Alistair Kirk joined High Speed Two Limited (HS2 Ltd) in September 2014 and is responsible for  establishing the programme management framework through which HS2 Ltd will govern and control its work and deliver expected benefits.

Our second speaker, programme director Michael Flynn, will look at what project management as a profession offers to society, the economy and the environment. He will be asking the questions: what does it need to do to be considered a world class profession, how do individuals contribute to this level of recognition and what is APM’s role?

Michael has extensive experience in developing and delivering multi-billion pound complex projects in the rail and energy sectors and is currently leading the New Tube for London programme. Naturally his talk will cover London and TFL, as well as the the APM code of professional conduct.

Stay up to date with the latest techniques for successful project delivery by grasping this opportunity to listen to and engage with influential speakers such as these. Interactive sessions mean you will leave the conference with all your vital project management questions answered. Networking with senior figures in the profession will also help raise your own profile and develop your career.

For more information on the other streams to be covered during the conference, including the ‘organisation stream’ sponsored by Projectplace, have a look at the theme for this year’s event.
