The data for this presentation was taken from the People SIG workshop which took place in December 2006 and has been created for anyone requiring base material for the subject: Project management is change management? The aim is to raise awareness of the people aspects of project management.
It represents the thoughts of the attendees on the 2 days who were Donnie MacNicol, Nina Downes, Paul Erricker, Paul Girling, Irene MacDonald, Brenda Hales and Steve Thomas and aims to create discussion and debate. It is recommended that the presentation is used to stimulate discussion and that the role of the presenter is to facilitate discussion.
The presentation considered common project management perceptions and the possible relationships between the disciplines. John Kotters 8 key stages to successful change is adopted as a favourable tool for managing change. The stages are all centred around hearts and minds.
