Dick Frijdal, technical product manager for Teamcenter presented to the East of England branch in January 2006 on project/programme management in a PLM context. Dick said that PLM can best be described as a strategic business approach that promotes internal integration covering product concept to end of life. PLM combines people process and technology. The challenge we have is to capture product information in its lifecycle context, transform the information into knowledge and make the knowledge a corporate asset.

In the presentation Dick used an example of engineering process management to illustrate his point. He also summarised integrating project & program management into the product lifecycle and talked about programme execution management (PEM). Dick described the key fundamentals that are critical to the success of PEM.

A detailed presentation combined with Dick's wealth of experience generated some great debate amongst the delegates who were very happy to learn from Dickss vast knowledge.

Slides from Dick's presentation are available to download below.
