The first RPP roadshow has a record attendance in Bristol
Posted by APM on 16th Mar 2011
The opening night of the RPP roadshow in Bristol had the highest turnout rate for a branch event in the South Wales West of England (SWWE) region over the last year. The sold out presentation of APM Registered Project Professional (RPP) by Julie Legge, Head of Membership at APM, given to a full house at the BAWA on 15th March confirms the level of interest there is in the new professional standard. This is emphasised by the fact that the London and now Warrington roadshow have sold out as well.
Dayner Proudfoot, PR & Marketing Manager at APM said: It is fantastic to see how extremely popular the RPP roadshow events are. Having a room full of people eager to hear all about the new pan-sector standard confirms to us the value project managers are putting on true professionalism.
Julie began her presentation with the first public viewing of the video; An Introduction to RPP by Andrew Bragg, APM Chief Executive. The full length version of the video also features John Zachar FAPM, Product Development Manager at APM, explaining the standard and the application process in a bit more detail.
The evening finished with Martin Gosden, SWWE Chair and RPP himself, presenting five of the first batch of successful RPP candidates with their certificates. By publicly honouring Peter Baber, Martin Handley, Alan Macklin, Tony Noakes and Peter Wakeling was a way of APM showing appreciation for their hard work during the pilot of RPP. Other successful candidates of RPP were also on hand, in their role as RPP Champions, giving the audience firsthand experience of the process and the benefits they found from becoming the first few to be entered onto the APM Register of Project Professionals.
Dayner added: Having the RPP Champions give their own personal account helped immensely. No one can explain what needs to be done and the benefits of going through the process better than someone who has been there and done it.
There are still places on the RPP roadshows in Edinburgh, Newcastle and Birmingham. To book a place on one of these events please click on the links below.
