The Northern Powerhouse: are you ready?
Just weeks ahead of APM’s Manchester Conference 2016, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Phillip Hammond has announced a portfolio of 13 projects ranging from doubling the size of MediaCityUK in Salford to working with Liverpool City Council to deliver 1,000 new homes.
The portfolio results in investment opportunities of more than £5 billion for Chinese Investors and adds to a range of projects currently underway in the region, including Hinckley Nuclear Power Plant and HS2.
APM’s upcoming event held in the heart of Manchester at the Etihad stadium will explore exactly what skills we need to make such a diverse and challenging range of projects a success, and how project management can deliver the Norther Powerhouse.
Industry-leading speakers from range of sectors, including nuclear - Scott Reeder, Sellafield Ltd, digital - Christine Bellamy, BBC Digital and transport - Steve Gillingham, Mace Limited, will explore what the future holds for them and how they seek to achieve their goals.
By bringing the project management industry together under one roof, the day offers the profession a chance to reflect on the delivery of current projects while providing the insight needed to ensure it is prepared for the challenges likely to be faced by future projects.
