University Project Challenge: 2012/13 semi final
Posted by APM on 14th Nov 2012
The Wessex branch held the semi finals of the 2012/13 University Project Challenge on the 12th November 2012 at Bournemouth University. Branch Chair Isaac Abraham facilitated the evening having welcomed all of the students.
Thirteen teams of second year BA (Hons) Business Studies with Project Management and Operations Management students from Bournemouth University submitted initial proposals. Of these, five teams were selected to progress to the next stage. These five each gave presentations during the semi final event and were also given a grilling by the Project Board as they sought clarity of the projects being undertaken.
Chaired by Trevor Marshall, and after due reflective discussion, the Project Board selected their three finalists for the Challenge. This is the fifth year of running the challenge and as Trevor commented the teams this year appear to have learnt from the feedback of past projects. All student teams will now benefit from the guidance of professional project managers as their mentors.
The 3 finalists are:
Apex Dial-a-bus for Christchurch Community Partnership
Dimension Swapping for Shopping
Tenacity Raising corporate awareness of the Youth Cancer Trust
The finals night will be held at Bournemouth University on the 26th February 2013.
