Who took part in the research?
Almost 5,000 respondents took part in the survey throughout 2016. Respondents were drawn from a number of backgrounds including project managers, board members and recruiters.
What did you discover?
The 2016 Salary and Market Trends Survey revealed an evolving profession with high earning potential averaging £50,000 and 82 per cent of respondents reporting to be fairly or very satisfied.
A growing number of contractors are now operating as a limited company and are seeing the rewards. With contactors earning 73 per cent more than employees, taking home on average £85,000 compared to the £49,000 of an average employee.
Throughout the survey, qualifications and professionalism through membership to professional bodies showed their worth. Full APM members are enjoying £10,000 more annually than the industry average and £14,000 when compared to a non-member. Meanwhile those holding a project professional qualification are enjoying as much as £18,000 more than the average project professional.
