Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts is the Corporate Modernisation Manager at Conwy County Borough Council and was the Programme Manager for the ‘Conwy Modernisation Programme’ that recently won ‘Programme of the Year’ at the 2019 APM Project Management Awards. Emma has been involved with Programme and Project Management with the Council since 2006 and developed Conwy’s Programme and Project Management Framework based upon Prince2 and Managing Successful Programmes.

The success of the ‘Conwy Modernisation Programme’ was based upon the fact that it was delivered internally using the programme and project management skills of internal staff. As the Strategic Lead for Programmes and Projects in Conwy, Emma has always been a strong proponent for having a strong internal foundation in terms of programme and project management as well as developing staff skills around benefits realisation and change management.

Presentation Synopsis

Conwy County Borough Council’s Modernisation Programme recently won ‘Programme of the Year’ at the APM Project Management Awards 2019. Emma Roberts was the Programme Manager for this Programme and her presentation will focus upon the programme vision, what the programme delivered and the approach taken as well as the approach to benefits realisation and change management. The presentation will also take account the APM Awards process and what made the ‘Conwy Modernisation Programme’ stand out from the rest.
