Head of Change Control - Crossrail
Responsible for managing the Programme Change Control process for Crossrail, which controls the high-level scope and requirements documents and delivery budgets. A Chartered Accountant, formerly a PLC Group Financial Controller, followed by ten years in financial roles in Network Rail.
Previously Crossrail’s Head of Financial Control, he moved into Programme Controls in 2012, where he established the cost assurance function under the NEC3 contracts, and leads the Programme change process.

Crossrail Programme Controls and change management
Walter will present an overview of Crossrail and the Programme Controls function. He will talk about the key objectives of programme controls, challenges of change management and the top causes of change.
In addition, he will discuss examples of changes that may have had unexpected consequences. He will facilitate discussion on the delegates experience of change to project design and scope and whether ALL change is bad.
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore which processes are necessary to capture and control change. Finally, he will share the Crossrail change control process and disclose what Crossrail did well and not so well.
