Head of Profession - Programme Management Function, AWE
Supported by Steve Teasdale, Head of Performance, AWE
Bob Ward has enjoyed a varied career, built on firm foundations as an engineering apprentice before joining AWRE in 1981. He rapidly moved through a quality assurance role before his first project management experience delivering process equipment changes in controlled facilities.
In 1991 he enjoyed a ‘detour’ through Information Systems Management (also gaining an Information Business Systems Degree), before a return to the ‘project world’ in 1994 supporting a diverse range of capital projects across AWE.
After a further period in Information Systems as a Senior PM, (gaining formal certifications in programme, project and also risk management) Bob returned to AWE’s core business in 2005, where he was a Senior Project Manager delivering large and complex research based trials.
Throughout his career, Bob has continued his professional development, most recently gaining an MSc in Programme and Project Management through the prestigious Cranfield University Programme.
Bob is now the Head of Profession for Programme and Project Management at AWE where he has the mandate to pass on his experience to support the development and professional accreditation of the next generation of PMs at his company.

So, in a world where resources are scarce across all areas of organisations, Bob and Steve will explore with delegates of this session the world of practical resource demand and management.
