Starting her career as a network engineer and with over 20 years’ leadership experience of Program Management and Business Management reporting to Board Level, Nichola has a strong foundation in Technology, Business, International and Multi-national Programs.
Now, as Head of Fujitsu’s Project Management Global Professional Community with accountability for all large Programmes in North West Europe, Nichola is passionate about enabling the benefits of diversity to create high performing teams. With the Industry’s move to Digital Transformation and Agile, she is leading the cultural change of the PM community to work with agility, transforming the behaviours, professional language and culture of project teams delivering value outcomes to customers.
Creating a safe space to be our very best
In this age of diversity and inclusion what does that really mean for not only corporate organisations but also project organisations? Unless we recognise and embrace and create a safe space for our differences, productivity and effective project delivery will surely suffer. But why do organisations have to work so hard to address gender inequality? How young does the perception of gender inequality start resulting in unconscious bias and how do we address that? Then, just when we think we’ve got all that cracked, we’ve checked our diversity stats and equal pay and that all looks good, we still have Microagression in the workplace – are you a perpetrator, a victim or a bystander to this threat to inclusivity?
