Winner  Cavendish Nuclear Defence PP&E Programme

Cavendish Nuclear(CN) are delivering a programme that's of critical importance which ties into the UKs defence strategy. It was identified that there was a very real mental health and wellbeing risk to the people engaged with this project due to its timescales and complexity. To help combat this risk CN implemented a stress survey, training of Mental health first aiders, an intranet hub for ongoing support and a monthly time to reflect session for the team to discuss topics in a safe environment. Implementing this has led to no ill health/errors caused by stress in phase one of the project.

Finalist  Screwfix Defibrillators

Following an idea from their People Forum, Screwfix successfully rolled out over 870 defibrillators in its stores for colleagues, customers and communities across the UK&ROI. Installing a defib is part of each new store opening programme, continuing to increase the locality of this life saving equipment to all. Working with the British Heart Foundation, all defibrillators are registered on The Circuit, giving the emergency services and the public visibility of the devices.

Alongside this, Screwfix has provided 15-minute RevivR CPR/Defib training to colleagues to build their confidence with the devices. People’s safety and the community remain central to this project.
