Session: New to Nuclear - Transition into nuclear from other sectors

In January 2024 the UK Government published its civil nuclear roadmap to 2050 outlining its commitment to a massive investment in home-produced clean energy. This Roadmap sets out a clear path for the growth of nuclear and explains how the UK will develop the skills and supply chains required to support this strategy. One of the biggest challenges is expanding the skills required to support this rapidly growing industry.

In this session, Jacobs, a leading provider of project management services across the nuclear sector, will share insights and learning from its ‘New to Nuclear’ programme designed to support mid-career and lateral entrants whose existing skills and expertise can be utilised in the nuclear sector.

There will also be a chance to hear from a recent graduate from the programme and find out more about the opportunities abundant within the nuclear sector.
