APPLYING SYSTEMS THINKING TO VUCA PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES
A session presented by the APM Systems Thinking Interest Network

This panel session will consider the particular challenges and risks that emerge for volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) projects and programmes through the lens of key systems thinking principles Emergence and Interconnectedness.

This session will also consider what the volatility and ambiguity of complex systems means when managing the impact on stakeholders of emergent changes, with a focus on seeking to understand the likely future outcomes, and engaging on this basis, rather than reporting historic performance and issues.

We will also aim to introduce approaches to consider projects holistically (in a systemic way) to underpin these reinforcements.
