Coronavirus precautions for APM Events
Like many organisations, APM is monitoring the ongoing coronavirus situation closely. We would like to reassure you that we have robust measures in place to minimise the impact on our operations arising from coronavirus and we are mindful that the situation is highly fluid. Any necessary decisions on business operations and events will be taken in accordance with the unique circumstances, and in line with the latest public health advice. In the event of any significant updates or changes, we will notify affected stakeholders immediately. The wellbeing of our staff, members and stakeholders remains our upmost priority.
In accordance with government guidelines, we are replacing our face to face Branch and SIG events with online alternatives where possible until the end of June. We have chosen to cancel our Power of Projects conferences in London and Manchester (previously scheduled to take place in May and June respectively) and we are looking at alternative ways to deliver these events virtually.
We will communicate regularly with delegates and affected stakeholders regarding access to online events.
We wish to offer reassurance that we have continued to follow guidance from the following organisations at all times:
The World Health Organization (WHO) https://www.who.int/
Public Health England https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/public-health-england
Public Health Scotland https://www.hps.scot.nhs.uk/
As this is a very dynamic and fluid situation, we are continually reviewing the risks and will take further action based on Government advice as appropriate.
UPDATE ON APM QUALIFICATIONS
We have also made the tough decision to stop paper-based examinations for all APM qualification to ensure the health and safety of all those involved in the exam process. This decision has been taken in line with government guidelines. We are now focused on launching an online version of our PMQ examination to ensure all project professionals can continue to develop themselves through APM qualifications during this period. We are aiming to have this available through our Accredited Training Providers by mid-April. If you have recently sat your exam, there will be a short delay in some results being sent as we are unable to process them. We will treat this as a top priority once our team is able to return to our office to process the exam packs. If PFQ is the right qualification for you, many of our Accredited Training Providers already offer online courses and examinations virtually. Visit our course finder to find out more.
We will keep all event stakeholders fully informed if and when the situation changes.
Thank you for your support and understanding at this time.
