Joanna Quirk
Joanna Quirk is a senior operational leader with over 20 years’ experience across finance, people, technology and organisational transformation within social purpose, membership based and charitable organisations. Joanna is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a diploma in charity accounting.
Joanna is currently Head of Operations at the Building Societies Association, where she leads core enablement functions including finance, digital, data and technology, human resources and operational efficiency. Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior leaders, she plays a key role in shaping strategy and ensuring that organisational ambitions are translated into effective delivery.
Previously, Joanna worked as Chief Operating Officer and prior to this as Finance Director at the Chartered Institute of Building. At CIOB Joanna transformed financial reporting, insight and management, oversaw large scale digital and organisational transformation and led on strategy development. Joanna’s earlier career was built in senior financial leadership roles within the charity and not for profit sector, including Deputy Director of Finance at Shelter, where she managed finances for a complex group with significant grant and statutory funding. She also spent over a decade in audit and assurance with Deloitte and Crowe working with major charities and social purpose organisations.
Joanna is also a Trustee and Chair of the Resources Committee at the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. In her spare time Joanna is a keen runner.
