APM Branch Awards 2021

APM Branch Awards 2021 celebrates the achievements of project professionals and students within their local APM Branch community for the following two awards:

APM Branch Student of the Year 2021 for those who have recently completed a project or programme during their time in industrial placement or whilst studying at a Higher Education Institutions (HEI).

APM Branch Young Project Professional 2021 for those who have completed a project or programme within their company that you were especially proud of and would like to share further.

You are invited to submit your entry for either of these awards by 09 April 2021. For full details and an application form for each award please see below.

APM Branch Award Student of the Year 2021

APM Branch Student of the Year competition is open to students within the Project Management community to showcase and be rewarded for their budding project management skills and achievements during a defined project.

This competition will provide entrants with a great platform to share their successes with the Project Management community, whilst engaging with other fellow future project managers. 

Finalists will be asked to provide a report on their project, which will be judged by APM Judges and then present to their peers and family members at a special Branch Awards Event.  The winner will then represent their APM Branch in a National Final.

Who should enter?

APM Branch Student of the Year 2021 is open to all full-time or part-time students aged 16 or over who are studying in project management.

This competition is open to students (undergraduate and postgraduate students at university) studying across a variety of project management sectors including, but not limited to

• Law  •  Life Sciences  •  Technology •  Financial Services  •  Space Industry  •  Aviation  •  Healthcare  •  Construction and many more!

APM Branch Award Young Project Professional 2021

APM Branch Award Young Project Professional competition is open to Project Managers and Portfolio Managers (aged 30 or below) who have recently completed a project or programme that showcases their project management skills and obtained a successful output (both working as a team, innovative steps and end results)

This competition will provide entrants with a great platform to share their successes with the Project Management community, whilst engaging with other fellow future project managers. 

Finalists will be asked to provide a report on their project, which will be judged by APM Judges and then present to their peers and family members at a special Branch Awards Event.  The winner will then represent their Branch in a National Final.

Who should enter?

APM Young Project Professional 2021 is open to all full-time Project Managers aged 30 or below. 

This competition welcomes Project Managers from a variety of sectors, including but not limited to

• Law  •  Life Sciences  •  Technology  •  Financial Services  •  Space Industry  •  Aviation  •  Healthcare  •  Construction and many more!

How to get involved

The APM judges are looking for the story behind the person who has delivered the greatest benefit to their clients, project teams and wider stakeholders.

The criteria for these categories put’s a greater emphasis on the positive contribution the project management professional made to the outputs and outcomes of their project(s), programme(s) and/or portfolio(s) whilst recognising the essential role that the project management techniques have in delivering success.

How will you be scored

Entrants will be scored across several different criteria’s, including the following;

  • Applicability or benefit to business and industry;
  • Lessons learned for future projects;
  • Innovations or overcoming challenges during project delivery
  • Statement of Support from course leader / lecturer
  • Presentation to the Project Management community
  • Reference to the APM Body of Knowledge and APM Competency Framework

Winners from the APM Branch level will receive;
