Step ❶ Complete your application

Download and fill in your application form, providing all requested supporting documentation

Completed forms should be submitted to accreditation@apm.org.uk.

Step ❷ Assessment

Your application and evidence will be reviewed by one of our approved assessors to check alignment with the APM Competence Framework


Step ❸ Decision and feedback

We’ll let you know if your application is accepted for endorsement or needs further development.

If changes are required, we’ll give you clear guidance and a two-week window to respond.

If unsuccessful, you can resubmit as a new application. 


Step ❹ Receive your endorsed branding

Once approved, you’ll receive: 

  • Your APM Endorsed signifier and digital assets.
  • Guidance on how to use the branding across your marketing and learning materials.

Step ❺ Annual renewal

Keep your endorsement up to date with a yearly renewal. If nothing has changed, you can submit a simple declaration of no change (available once consecutively).

After that, a full review ensures your provision stays current.

With our tiered pricing, you can purchase a bundle and submit provisions for endorsement at any time over a 12-month period, giving you the flexibility to plan ahead and maximise value. The more provisions you include, the greater the savings – making this an affordable solution for organisations that want recognised, industry-aligned learning.

Frequently asked questions

Why would a submission be unsuccessful?

An application would not be successful where the learning content does not demonstrably align with the APM Competence Framework.  

What’s the minimum amount of time I need to run a learning provision for once it has got APM Endorsed?

There is no minimum or maximum amount of time; APM Endorsed has been designed for flexibility.  

I am the creator of learning provisions; but don’t have a registered organisation – can I gain APM Endorsed?

To qualify for APM Endorsed, the learning provision must be provided by a registered organisation i.e. on Companies House.  

What happens if I am unsuccessful?

The assessor report is sent for every application (successful or unsuccessful) an unsuccessful submission has two weeks from receipt of feedback in which to respond. After this time a full resubmission would be required.

When is the payment made?

You will be invoiced at point of receipt of application - the invoice has 30-day payment terms.

If payment is made with the application, are any monies refunded for unsuccessful applications?

No as we have incurred all the costs by this point. 

How are the benefits different from accreditation?

It enhances credibility for organisations whose learning sits outside formal qualifications. 

It gives the mark of excellence to an individual learning provision, confirming alignment to the APM Competence Framework, rather than to an organisation as a whole, as with Corporate Accreditation.  

It helps ensure learning programmes are structured, coherent, and aligned with an agreed framework, supporting consistent learning outcomes across teams and regions. 

The benefits are similar but allow holders different opportunities for learners, Accreditation requires demonstrable alignment to the APM Body of Knowledge (academic and professional course), or it may lead to an APM Qualification (Training Provider). APM Endorsed learning provisions will be aligned to the APM Competence Framework. Each benefit is suited to a specific learner requirement and possibly steer from employers.   

Do I need to get APM Endorsed for my course?

No - APM Endorsed is a voluntary choice for those who wish to benefit from it.  

Why is there a cost to APM Endorsed?

APM upholds the highest of standards in the profession, to do this, we use trained assessors, staff and systems to process every application. These are all services that we must cover as part of each submission.

It’s important to note that as a charity, any profit made from Endorsed is reinvested into the profession as part of our Charitable aims.

Why isn’t the pricing the same as Accreditation with an initial cost and then renewal?

APM Endorsed is a more flexible option for those seeking to have their learning provision recognised for the link to the APM Competence Framework. While some courses may – we expect many courses not to have a four year lifetime without the need for changes or alterations. The ongoing cost covers:  

  • Reassessment of any changes.
  • Ongoing support and hosting of your provision on our website (if chosen).  
  • Use of our brand, APM Endorsed signifier and IP.
