Matt Wiles is the Chief Executive for Leidos UK. Previously, he was Programme Director for Leidos' £6.5Bn Logistics Commodities and Support Transformation (LCST) outsource programme with the UK Ministry of Defence. Matt joined Leidos in May 2016 after three years with Serco where he was the managing director for Serco’s UK Defence business. In this role, he had responsibility for almost 7,000 staff, and full P&L responsibility for an annual revenue of £700M. He delivered a diverse portfolio of over one hundred contracts, including the provision of support ships for the Royal Navy, operation of the Joint Services Staff College and the Emergency Planning College.
Also; exercise training for the British Army, multi-activity contracts for the RAF/army, maintenance of aircraft, and satellite services for the UK MOD. Before joining Serco, Matt had a career in the RAF spanning 34 years, blending business-focused appointments with operational service. He has led significant outsourcing and change programmes, including work to transform the Defence Supply Chain to improve operational capability.
Having led the UK military's operational-level logistics, personnel and infrastructure support to the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan (for which he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), his logistics roles culminated with his appointment as the 2-Star Director General Joint Support Chain delivering the UK's defence supply chain, and acquiring £1Bn of commodities annually.
Interspersed with his logistics roles, Matt has managed major IT and business change programmes, led Aircraft Acquisition and Support, been responsible for the RAF’s international business, been the RAF’s Executive Officer, and his last role in the RAF was as the Air Secretary and Chief of Staff Personnel (HR Director), responsible for the People processes and career management of 33,000 RAF staff. He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in 2013.
