Chair, Institute of Value Management, and Associate Director (Risk) - Turner & Townsend

Julie has over 40 years’ experience in transport and construction related activities. This includes experience of project management, client / sponsorship, cost engineering, contract law, commercial requirements, and programme controls. She has specialised in Value Management and Risk Management for over 25 years, and has led teams of Risk & Value professionals in the transport and construction sectors. In addition, she has led Value Management at organisational level, ensuring standards and procedures align industry best practise and company requirements.

Julie is passionate about the application of Value Management across all sectors in the UK. She is the current Chair of the Institute of Value Management, a position she has now held on 4 occasions. In addition she is a qualified Professional in Value Management (PVM) and a Trainer in Value Management (TVM). She is also an Institute of Risk Management (IRM) member and active on the IRM NE Branch Committee.
