Head of Project Delivery Centre of Excellence & Profession, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), UK Parliament

Algy Ayson joined UK Parliament in 2018 and is currently the head of project delivery centre of excellence and profession within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). His work involves providing leadership in establishing the organisation’s centre of excellence for the project delivery profession to effectively run Parliament’s investment portfolio and building a strong community of around 400 professionals that thrives on knowledge sharing, lessons learning and capability building.

As a change maker and a senior leader, he is a highly experienced change and transformation professional with years of extensive experience across the public and private sector having led, delivered and supported a variety of transformation programmes and change initiatives focusing on people, digital transformation, construction, customer experience and operational delivery.

Key areas of work included setting up and managing high-performing PMO and change and engagement services and teams, delivery of digital transformation and customer experience change initiatives, strategy and service development and organisational design.

He has worked at executive board level supporting senior leaders such as SROs, executive sponsors and directors in strategy development, business and financial planning, project delivery, capacity and capability building and operational excellence. This included working as a head of service for contact centre and customer service operations, portfolio delivery services and strategic stakeholder management in local government, the civil service, social housing and Parliament.

He has particular skills in change management, organisational and user-centred design, service development, stakeholder and team management and development and project delivery capacity and capability-building.

He holds change and PPPM (project/programme/portfolio management) qualifications and he is currently taking a senior leader apprenticeship and MBA programme at the University of Exeter. He is also a full member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Association for Project Management (APM).
