Karlene Agard

Karlene Agard is an award-winning risk and value management expert with a focus on starting megaprojects for success. She is also an international speaker who has given presentations on risk, value, and project management.
Karlene is currently pursuing a Masters in Major Programme Management at the University of Oxford, where she is also a Research Fellow with Project X (ESRC funded). Under the direction of Professor Giorgio Locatelli and Dr Alexander Budzier, she is researching unexpected value and presented initial findings at the British Academy of Management in 2022.
In addition to her consulting work, which spans infrastructure, IT, and energy, Karlene has written articles for Forbes, McKinsey and Deloitte. She recently co-authored a whitepaper on how Oxford Global Projects had delivered an AI early warning system for the government of Hong Kong (https://www.apm.org.uk/blog/artificial-intelligence-how-hong-kong-uses-2-700-years-of-project-data-to-shape-today-s-projects/). Karlene was one of the youngest women to be appointed a Fellow of the Association for Project Management.
