Professor Martina Huemann and Simon Jones, a Publisher from Elsevier, talked about ‘How to get your excellent research published’ in project management journals. Topics included ‘Which journal fits your paper?’, ‘tip and tricks on how to write a great paper’ ‘common mistakes when writing a paper’ and ‘journal processes in project management journals’.
In this workshop Simon shared his experiences of undertaking a part-time PhD, what it means to do an autoethnography and how he have moved his career from 30 years of practice in construction project management to becoming a full time academic.
Cristina Mas Peiro Project Manager at Airbus & Jo Stanford MA ChPP Health Education England
In this session Jo, head of profession at Health Education England, and Cristina, a graduate at Airbus talked from two different perspectives about their experiences of career progression in the project profession, what they learned along the way, and what they would pass on to others to help them in their own career journeys.

This presentation, delivered by project professionals Nicola Benjamin and Tom Grosvenor, gave delegates a taste of the speakers’ experiences working on a variety of different projects. Tom and Nicola focused on the range of issues facing project professionals in complex, dynamic and uncertain project environments.
Caspar Bartington Association for Project Management & Daniel Nicholls Association for Project Management
In this session Daniel and Caspar talked about the importance of education and research to APM. This included some of the ways you can engage with APM’s content and community, as well as looking ahead to future plans and opportunities.
