APM celebrates successful recruitment campaign for new Regional Network Leads and deputy leads
Association for Project Management (APM) has successfully recruited new Leads and Deputy Leads for several Regional Network teams. Using a robust recruitment process, APM received a total of 45 applications for the Network Lead roles and 101 for the Deputy Lead roles, across 18 Regional Networks.
The Leads and Deputy Leads are responsible for steering knowledgeable and stimulating discussions. With support from volunteers, they will drive the focus of their Regional Network, plan events and build on opportunities for members.
All applications were anonymised before being reviewed by 10 Volunteer Delivery Group (VDG) members. This meant that each application was assessed solely on its content, without any identifying details. Once scoring was completed, the top two candidates per role were invited to an interview with a panel of two VDG members, who followed a set of standard questions to further assess their skills and values.
The interviews reflected a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and experiences among the candidates. Approximately 15% of Lead candidates and 30% of Deputy candidates were women. Overall, candidates were very strong, highly motivated and demonstrated a great mix of skills.
Selecting the successful candidate wasn’t an easy decision for the VDG, but the structured recruitment process, with defined questions and scoring criteria, provided a solid framework and gave the group confidence in their final choices.
