APM Chartered status awareness and the value of APM membership – UAE focused
The APM UAE Network explored Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status, the benchmark for technical knowledge, professional practice, and ethics, and the value of APM membership. This webinar was held on 12 August 2026.
The network invited project, program, and portfolio professionals across the UAE to a dedicated session on Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status and the value of APM membership.
As the only chartered membership organization for the project profession in the world, APM sets the benchmark for technical knowledge, professional practice, and ethical behavior. Chartered status, recognised internationally as the equivalent of Chartered Accountant, Chartered Engineer, or Chartered Surveyor designations, demonstrates that a project professional has achieved a defined level of expertise across the APM Competence Framework, validated through a rigorous, externally assessed process.
This session walked through the pathways to ChPP, explained how prior project, programme, and portfolio experience can be evidenced regardless of formal qualifications held, and clarified the distinction between APM membership and chartered status, including how membership supports continuing professional development (CPD), networking, and access to the APM's extensive volunteer community.
With a growing population of project professionals across the UAE, and momentum building through initiatives such as the Abu Dhabi University–APM Memorandum of Understanding to advance project management excellence in the region, now is a timely moment for individuals and organizations to understand the credibility, mobility, and competitive edge that chartered status and APM membership bring.
Whether you are early in your career, considering Fellowship, or supporting your team's professional development, this session will have helped you understand what chartered status really signals, and how APM membership can strengthen your project delivery capability in the UAE market.
