APM Midlands Branch BCAG November Event

Save for later

On 26th November 2019, APM Midlands Branch Corporate sub-committee held the 11th and increasingly popular Corporate Advisory Group VIP Working Lunch exclusively for Midlands Corporate Partner & Affiliate representatives.  The theme for this event was Projecting the Future - the Big Conversation and was kindly hosted by RLB at their offices in central Birmingham.
Corporate Members represented included Kuka Systems, ProjExc PM Consulting, QinetiQ, Rider Levett Bucknall, Rolls-Royce, University of Birmingham, and WSP .
John Williams (APM Branch Corporate sub-committee Chair) welcomed the attendees and contributors, and introduced the purpose of the Corporate Advisory Group, as well as the theme and goals for the session.
David Shaw (RLB Partner) gave an introduction to the RLB works in the Midlands.
Stephen Rooney (APM Policy Manager) provided an insightful introduction to Projecting the Future - The Big Conversation, building into an overview of the 6 identified challenges.  During the course of the conversation there were 2 additional challenges proposed - PM profession readiness and Brexit.

As normal there was much round table debate during the presentation, with attendees generously sharing their experiences, concerns, current action and ideas.
After a buffet lunch and an opportunity for networking, the discussions and experience sharing continued, facilitated by John Williams.
To round off the event, Lesley Lynch (APM Partnership Development Manager) shared the latest news from APM, and encouraged the corporate members to discuss what more APM can do to support them.  David Munslow (APM Branch Corporate sub-committee) then gave an update on the next APM Midlands Young Project Professional of the Year Awards, and encouraged corporate members to nominate their young PMs by the 13th December deadline.
Throughout the session there were opportunities for peer-to-peer networking between representatives of Midlands corporate partners and affiliates.
We are now preparing the next event in March 2020 - please pre-register your interest via your contact in the partner development team.
