A focused webinar, hosted by the UAE Network, on quantitative risk analysis, exploring how data-driven techniques within APM strengthen forecasting, decision-making, and confidence across the project lifecycle. This session was held on 12 October 2026.

Quantitative risk analysis plays a critical role in improving project certainty by transforming uncertainty into measurable insights. Within the Association for Project Management (APM) framework, it enhances traditional risk management by providing robust, data-driven support to planning, forecasting, and decision-making. This webinar offered a practical introduction to how quantitative techniques can be effectively applied across the project lifecycle.

The session explored key quantitative methods, including Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, and probabilistic modelling, demonstrating how these tools are used to assess cost and schedule risk. Participants gained a clear understanding of how to move beyond qualitative assessments and develop confidence ranges for project outcomes, enabling more informed and transparent decision-making.

A strong emphasis will be placed on integrating quantitative risk analysis with core project controls functions. This includes linking risk to cost contingency, schedule buffers, and performance forecasting, as well as aligning outputs with governance requirements such as business case validation and stage gate approvals. Real-world examples will illustrate how quantitative insights can strengthen project assurance and support better risk-based decisions.

The webinar also addressed common challenges, such as data quality, model assumptions, and stakeholder communication, ensuring that complex outputs are translated into clear, actionable insights.

Designed for project controls professionals, planners, and risk practitioners, this session equipped participants with the knowledge to apply quantitative risk analysis in line with APM best practice, driving more reliable project outcomes and enhanced confidence in delivery.
