The APM Aberdeen chapter hosted another successful CPD event on 17 May 2018, which included a very insightful talk by Paul Foy (Value Performance Ltd), asking the question “So you think you understand risk?”. Following a brief introduction about risk and acceptable risk management techniques, the presenter addressed a number of interesting topics, such as the Known-Unknowns model based on Donald Rumsfeld's Black Swan theory and luck. These topics are strongly interconnected to the conventional risk management processes in organisations, operating in uncertain environments, incorporating high risks and opportunities.

The presenter put a great emphasis on audience engagement, asking questions and incorporating the personal experience of the audience members. The presentation concluded with a high number of questions and further discussions, related to the topic. Following the completion of the event, the guests were invited for networking.
