Knowledge sharing within the project management community is vital for driving innovation, enhancing efficiency, and improving outcomes across industries. This was one of the conversations highlighted at APM’s Summer Corporate Partners event on Tuesday 8 July at the IET London.

Exchanging insights, tools, and lessons learned becomes increasingly valuable in how projects are delivered. As methodologies like agile evolve and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence reshape how projects are delivered, openly exchanging insights, tools, and lessons learned becomes increasingly valuable.

On welcoming guests, Caspar Bartington, Head of Commercial Partnerships at APM, thanked Corporate Partners for their support and said: “>We really value your loyalty and the knowledge that you share with us and your community. Sourcing some of that knowledge that other corporates and members are interested is important and we can share those insights and learnings with organisations through our corporate webinar programme and other resources.”

An enjoyable evening was had by all those attending the event. It was the perfect opportunity to bring together like minded project professionals across a variety of sectors and organisations including AtkinsRéalis, City & Guilds, Thales UK Ltd, UK Space Agency, AXA UK, OFGEM and many more.

Guests were treated to a selection of delicious food and drinks all served from the IET’s rooftop terrace on a summer’s evening with spectacular views overlooking the river Thames.

Those attending also heard from APM’s London Regional Network Lead Matt Tucker about the APM Interest and Regional Networks and how to get involved in the work they do in bringing project professionals together to network, learn and share aspects of project management.

APM Interest Networks now cover a wide range of topics from Space and AI to Sustainability and Defence and there are now 16 Regional Networks both in the UK and internationally.  Matt also talked about other APM activities which corporates can be involved including Project Management Challenge, student engagement and upcoming events from the London Regional Network and other Networks.

A representative attending from City & Guilds said: “It’s always good to share experiences and realise similar challenges are being faced across the profession. It’s great to have the opportunity to meet people at events like this who are working on different types of projects to share learning – you can come away with new ideas and the motivation to try something new.”
