Synopsis: Innovation Management Within the Transformation Programme

Innovation – is that a noun, a verb or just a pipe dream? We constantly hear clichés and catch phrases – it’s about culture, right? About being able to give and take something a little bit novel? Of course - it is. One thing for certain – it does not just happen. At one extreme – we could all be sparking ideas so much that we did no business. At the other – we could do none and not change. Whether we have transformation “portfolio” or transformation “programme” – how do we inspire people to be innovative in setting a vision and in finding specific solutions? Should Innovation: Be led/driven/supported by a new function within our business? Be an extension to the programme office? Pop up and disappear with our transformation programme? Or does this become a behaviour that we culturally embed in our business, project and programme teams? What other magic is needed?
