Laurence Quinn

 

For the last 18 months, Laurence as been a Technical Director within the Environment & Infrastructure Solutions team at Wood plc.  Before that, he spent 35 years as a Royal Engineer officer.  For most of his time in the Army, Laurence has been engaged as a chartered engineer, infrastructure specialist.  From designing and testing structures to resist explosion, to running the facilities management contract for the RAF main operating bases in the UK and abroad, his career has been a varied one.  One of his last major roles before leaving the Army was in Afghanistan as the Theatre’s senior infrastructure officer.  In this role he directed the closure and transition of the British military bases there. This included closing Camp Bastion, by far the British military’s biggest base since the second world war.  This is the subject of his presentation.
