Andy is Head of Risk and Engineering Services at Costain and a management consultant with over 15 years’ experience in project, programme and enterprise risk management. He’s responsible for overseeing Costain’s risk advisory service with energy and defence clients and has a particular interest in forensic QRA, streamlining risk practice and effective risk collaboration between project stakeholders.

Synopsis: The human factor in risk management

Risk management practice, tools and software have become increasingly sophisticated and whilst most projects invest significant risk resources in terms of people, processes and tools, they often fail to fully realise the expected benefits. This presentation will look at some of the human factors involved in project risk management, and how these can be tackled in order to create an environment which maximises the value from risk activities and improves project outcomes.
