Thu 12 June 🕐 11:55-12:40 | Innovation Stream

Balancing sustainability and AI

Worldwide our demand for data and AI is growing exponentially. Driven by the phenomenal success of chatbots, AI is permeating every part of our professional lives, reshaping how we do business. There's enormous potential ahead, as we adopt and apply these exciting technologies to improve delivery and work to build a world where "every project succeeds".

However, alongside this rapid innovation are environmental impacts. The data centres supplying our demands consume huge amounts of energy and resources. How then, can we balance the use of AI in project delivery with sustainability?

In this interactive session James will survey the evolving landscape of AI, data and projects. He will explore how understanding algorithms is the key to reducing the impacts while maximising the upsides. Projects will need to think differently, to embrace sustainability in a world of AI and data. James will suggest practical strategies to take back into the workplace, followed by a Q&A.
