Cyara Buchuck-WilsenachCyara Buchuck-Wilsenach, Project Manager, Ministry of Justice

I am an early-career project manager currently working on private prison contracting within the Ministry of Justice. I have previously worked on projects including a multi-billion programme reforming the costs of recycling household waste in DEFRA, and helping establish a new national network of research software engineers and humanities academics within UK Universities with the Alan Turing National Institute for Data Science and AI. I am passionate about DEI, and was awarded the Wendy Jones 2024 award for commitment to DEI by the FDA Trade Union. To this end, alongside my day job I also support multiple teams within FCDO on undertaking their GEDSI (gender equality, disability, and social inclusion) analysis. I have also sat on senior boards and provided support for gender and DEI matters in DEFRA and DWP.

Prior to my career in project management I undertook an MA in Gender and International Development at the Institute for Development Studies, an institution globally recognised for its strong approach to development. I have also previously overseen DEI work and projects in the 3rd sector as a the trustee of a regional mental health charity
