Dr. Joel Carboni is a globally recognized leader in sustainable project management, whose pioneering methodologies have set the standard for integrating sustainability into project frameworks worldwide. As the founder of GPM® (Green Project Management), his work has influenced corporations, governments, and organizations in over 55 countries, shaping the way sustainability is embedded into project delivery.

Holding a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development and Environment, Dr. Carboni brings 30 years of expertise in environmental science and sustainability, alongside 25 years of experience spanning government, finance, consulting, manufacturing, and academia. He has successfully managed over $1 billion in CAPEX change initiatives, achieving a 97% client satisfaction rate.

A highly sought-after consultant and keynote speaker, Dr. Carboni has delivered impactful presentations at major conferences and symposiums on project management and sustainability. He is the Past President of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) U.S. and a member of the Forbes Business Council.

For his contributions to sustainability, Dr. Carboni was knighted by the Order of St. George, recognizing his dedication to advancing responsible and regenerative practices in business and project management.

Dr. Carboni is also a UN leader in sustainability, representing GPM at the United Nations Global Compact and serving as a foundational signatory for the Business for Peace Initiative and the Anti-Corruption Call to Action. He played a key role in shaping the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

His groundbreaking contributions include the development of PRiSM™, the P5 Standard for Sustainability in Project Management, and widely adopted educational modules on Green and Sustainable Project Management, which are now taught in over 145 countries through partnerships with universities, professional training organizations, and business consortiums.

Dr. Carboni is a regular contributor to Forbes.com, where he writes on sustainable business topics, offering insights into the intersection of sustainability, governance, and corporate strategy and was recognized by the change leadership Institute in 2024 as their sustainability leader of the year.

He is also the author of the industry reference, "Sustainable Project Management," and a visiting professor at Skema Business School, where he continues to inspire the next generation of sustainability leaders.
