APM Victoria Network brings together project professionals in Australia for inaugural event

The Association for Project Management (APM) Victoria Network in Australia has held its first event, bringing together the project management community to discuss leadership, project decision making.  

The event, held at EnergyAustralia, brought together project professionals from different sectors, organisations and career stages, with two panel discussions at the centre of the evening. Speakers and panellists included Project Management and Controls expert Cameron Mills, Project, Programme and Portfolio Management professional Daniela Kellett, Corporate Services Consultant Nuria Delle Chiaie, Katie Southway, Associate Principal at Arup, Rob Loader, Strategy & Transformation Executive and Lady Garzon Fernandez, founder GAFER CAD Solutions, along with Network Lead Colin Taylor, and Deputy Lead Andrew Fox

Attendees enjoyed two panel discussions, in which they were able to gain a clear understanding of APM’s global standards and the relevance of Chartership in the Australian context. They heard real stories from chartered professionals, and practical insights into leadership and human-centred delivery, as well as connecting with peers across industries.  The people, leadership and project decision-making panel discussion which followed explored leadership behaviours, client and supplier relationships, and the decision-making disciplines required in complex environments. 

The event also offered a rare opportunity to help shape the emerging APM Victoria community and to be part of the first step in establishing APM’s presence in Australia.
