Ex-Army officer and founder of Eiger Sport and Business Performance Ltd Guy Richardson has been confirmed as the opening speaker for this year’s Scottish Conference sponsored by 20|20 Business Insight.

With over 30 years’ experience spanning the armed forces and as an administrator in international sport, Guy Richardson was the British and Irish Lions operations director for their rugby tour to Hong Kong and Australia in 2013. His planning and organising contributed to the British and Irish Lions first series win in 16 years.

“My role was to take responsibility for planning and preparation for the tour, so anything that affected the team was part of my remit,” said Guy.

“As a leader, it’s important that I give out an aura of being calm and making the right decisions, even in stressful situations” he added. “While serving in the army I trained in how to deal with stress – being placed in scenarios where I was commanding soldiers and having to deliver under pressure.”

At the APM Scottish Conference in Edinburgh on Thursday 10th September, Guy will be focusing on:

  • the importance of leadership in ensuring project success by establishing vision and direction
  • influencing and aligning teams towards a common purpose
  • empowering individuals

APM members and non-members are invited to join expert speakers and thought-leaders to examine the importance of leadership in ensuring successful project delivery.

Now is the best time for you to book and take advantage of the early bird rate. You could save up to £110 if you book to attend the conference and dinner by 10th July, which will also include a tour of Murrayfield Stadium.
