Internal Collaboration, Enabling Change SIG May newsletter 2016
Posted by APM on 4th May 2016
3. Internal Collaboration - Elisabeth Goodman
In our last newsletter I described our goals for collaborating with other branches and SIGs and the progress we had started to make. We have now reached out to all the SIGs and branches and, at the time of writing, have either completed or are planning events with the following SIGs:
- Benefits Management
- Contracts and Procurement
- Planning, Monitoring and Control
- Portfolio Management
- Women in Project Management
And the following branches:
- Northern Ireland
- South East
- South Wales and West of England
- Thames Valley
- Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire
I am chairing and contributing to some of the events, but also involving other members of the committee and other speakers where the topic is better aligned to their areas of expertise. A recent event that I spoke at was for the Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire branch, in Leeds, on Common Factors for Successful Change.
Keep an eye on your invitations to our events, the events tab on the Enabling Change SIG community page on the APM website, and on the events section of this newsletter to make sure you don't miss out on the collaborative events that you would like to attend.
APM HQ conducted an analysis of our membership in terms of which branches you are aligned with, and which other SIGs you are also members of. They could only do this where you had agreed to share your postal address and so we only have a sample to work with. The results for January are shown in the following tables. We will be reviewing these figures on a quarterly basis. For 2016-17 we have decided to focus on joint events and other collaborations with SIGs and branches in the red, orange, and yellow bands, although we will continue to welcome approaches from other SIGs and branches.
As mentioned elsewhere in this newsletter, we are working on a “Change Guide” that we will be inviting review on, and have a one-day conference planned with SWWE branch in Bristol on 29th September, which will help inform the guide.
Do get in touch if you would like us to collaborate more actively with a branch or another SIG that you are interested in.
