Association for Project Management (APM) has welcomed the newest members of its Board of Trustees, following its annual board elections.

APM announced at its annual general meeting on 10 November that Martina Blake ChPP FAPM and Rudy Hughes ChPP FAPM have been elected to its Board. The pair will bring new skills and experience as they work alongside the Board and APM’s Chief Executive to set the organisation’s strategic direction and ensure it fulfils its charitable objectives.

 

Martina Blake

Martina BlakeWith over 26 years in the UK Government, Martina has deep expertise in leading complex and high-risk major projects and programmes in areas such as the space industry, government security, defence, digital, and transformation, both in the UK and internationally. Martina is currently a UK Government Advisor to the European Space Agency (ESA), advising ESA on delivery of the Space Safety Programme (Space Weather, Planetary Defence and Space Debris), Mission Operations Infrastructure Projects, and Transformation Initiatives.

Martina is also the Lead of APM’s International Space Sector Interest Network, and UK representative for the International Project Management Committee within the International Astronautical Federation. She is a Chartered Project Professional, Fellow of APM, and a Senior Practitioner for the National Infrastructure Service Transformation Authority (NISTA).

She said: "It is a privilege to be elected as a Trustee of APM. I stood for election to help shape the future of our profession, ensuring it remains inclusive, forward-thinking and responsive to global challenges. I am committed to strengthening our voice across sectors, growing our partnerships and advancing project management as a strategic discipline. Supporting members throughout their careers and positioning project professionals as leaders in delivering complex, transformative programmes are key priorities. I look forward to working with the Board to champion excellence and drive meaningful impact across our community."

 

Rudy Hughes

Rudy is a Technical Director at WSP, a global engineering and professional services firm, where he is part of the Senior Leadership Team in Project and Commercial Management (PMCM) for civil engineering, infrastructure and utilities. He provides strategic leadership to strengthen project delivery capability nationally.

He is passionate about inclusive leadership and the development of the next generation of project managers. He is a Chartered Project Professional and an APM Fellow.

 

Amy Morley, Chair of APM’s Board, said: "I’m pleased to welcome Martina and Rudy as APM’s newest Trustees. They are both highly accomplished and respected professionals, and have both been actively involved in the project community for many years. They each bring strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset and diverse sector experience, which will enable them to make a valuable contribution to APM and the wider project profession. I am greatly looking forward to working with them."
