Professionals from MACE, CH2M Hill and Deutsche International to speak at APM Conference
In our continued drive to add innovative and inspirational speakers to the APM Conference, we are pleased to announce the final three speakers that complete this years line-up. Senior professionals from Deutsche Bahn International, CH2M HILL UK and MACE now complete our impressive speaker programme for Thursday 3rd April, event which is being sponsored by 20|20 Business Insight.
Dr Frank Menter, head of PM office at Deutsche Bahn InternationalPrize winner of the IPMA International Project Excellence Award in 2005, Dr Frank Menter holds a Doctorate in Engineering from Aachen Technical University in his home country, Germany.
He has led several railway infrastructure projects in North America, Europe and Asia. In 2013, he moved on to Deutsche Bahn International in Frankfurt, the consulting and engineering branch of the German railways, as executive director for the production management, which encompasses project management and human resource management tasks.
DB International, a 150m company, and its approx. 1,500 employees, help railway agencies and operators to design, procure, and supervise the construction, commissioning and operation of new railway and metro lines. Besides the German home market and a strong presence in the Middle East, customers range from a port authority in Brazil to a rail freight operator in Mongolia.
Barbara Welch, operations director at MACEWinner of the 2013 Outstanding Woman in Construction Award, Barbara is an operations director responsible for Maces UK based international team and runs three business units which manage projects globally.
Barbara has worked on projects across a broad range of countries including Macau, Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Serbia. She has excellent international experience and cultural sensitivity. As such, she has been instrumental in helping Mace move from a UK business with overseas operations towards a truly global business.
Ken Durbin, principal programme manager, major programmes at CH2M HILL UK
Ken has 30 years of design and construction experience, leading projects and programmes for CH2M HILL on four continents. His expertise is in building successful teams delivering complicated large scale infrastructure and vertical build projects.
He recently joined the Thames Tideway Tunnel programme, having completed the lead set-up role for a key infrastructure monitoring and reporting scope for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Ken was previously the technical director of CLM, the delivery partner responsible for the infrastructure and venues for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
