Name: Tony Stanway

Why did you become a volunteer for APM?
After years of working as a ‘lone’ project manager I wanted to get involved with like-minded professionals and put some formality around my hands-on experience. It’s nice to be in a position to compare my abilities with some talented people.

What benefits have you gained from being an APM volunteer?
I have gained access to some great project management professionals and excellent materials, as well as further developing my own skills.

What would be your top tip to an APM member looking to become a volunteer?
Don’t be scared to challenge. We are an association full of project management professionals and it is sometimes easy to think that somebody else has asked that hard question; never assume this.
