Social media for project managers
On the 10th of June 2010 the APM Women in Project Management SIG held a telephone conference titled Social media for project managers that was hosted by Elizabeth Harrin. The well attended sessionlooked at the theory and practice of using social media tools to get things done in business. Is it hype or do these tools actually work? And how do you get started with a project-based social media initiative in your own company?
Elizabeth Harrin, BA, MA, MBCS, is a project manager in the healthcare sector and prior to that worked extensively in the financial services industry in the UK and France. Elizabeth is a PRINCE2 Practitioner and trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
As well as her work as a professional project manager, Elizabeth is a prolific project management author and commentator. Elizabeth is the author of Project Management in the Real World, and a new book published by PMI this year: Social Media for Project Managers. She also writes and publishes the award-winning blog A Girls Guide to Project Management. Elizabeth is a columnist at PMTips.net and a contributor to the popular project management website Gantthead.com.
