The Science-Based Targets initiative and what it means for projects and project management webinar
The Science-Based Targets (SBTs) are the assurance for customers, employees and supply chain, and investors, that we know what we’re doing, that our sustainability commitments are real and quantified, not just platitudes.
The SBTs are a project or organisation’s assurance that our sustainability commitments are real and quantified, not just platitudes. This affects who does business with us, our customers, our employees and supply chain, and our investors.
SBTs are the changes we need to make to greenhouse gas emissions to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at least. SBTi develops the standards, tools and guidance to support companies, government organisations and charities to do this, so it’s credible.
This webinar was on Tuesday 2 December explained that, we (project managers) need to know about SBTs and SBTi because it avoids a whole lot of rework and ensures the credibility of our projects, and understanding the process contributes to your credibility as a professional.
