The senior responsible owner

Andreas Lambrianou of the NHS Information Centre and Rob Stephens of the Office of Government and Commerce presented to Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire branch in November 2009 on The Senior Responsible Owner.

Andreas started the presentation looking at the key responsibilities of the senior responsible owner; he focused on vision and leadership and also the importance of positive behaviours and personal reflection from the owner.

Rob Stephens looked at two working models for the senior responsible owner used in the Office of Government and Commerce. Rob concentrates on some of the perceptions and issues surrounding the role of the senior responsible owner, he lists some of these: role is not well understood, senior responsible owner's with no delivery experience, too little time to dedicate to role, lack of guidance, education and support.

To conclude, Rob made some very detailed and thorough recommendations for steps forward. Before the session closed the audience were invited to debate the issues raised.
