|  APM Business Leader Index Survey 2025/2026

The APM Business Leader Index Survey is an annual report that offers a comprehensive view of business leader perspectives on project delivery.

For the 2025/26 edition, we surveyed 500 business leaders based in the UK and Channel Islands four times – at quarterly intervals. Respondents were either Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) or Managing Directors (MDs).

The findings from this survey provide detailed insights of project deliverability confidence, delivery capability, most-needed skills and perceptions of project delivery in government. This matters because the accelerating pace of change means new challenges are continuously emerging while existing ones are being felt more acutely.

The need to do more, quickly (and often with less resource) is pushing some businesses to experiment with new structures, processes and more frequent updates to their strategies. With this in mind - and against a volatile geopolitical backdrop -it's perhaps not surprising that leadership confidence levels are being affected.

By comparing results with data from the 2024/25 edition, the survey also provides a rounded view on how business leader perspectives have shifted over time, highlighted the key trends that have emerged. We will continue to build on this data as we publish more Business Leader Index Surveys over the coming years.
