How APM is run
APM is the United Kingdom member association of IPMA. It is an educational charity, is incorporated as a private company limited by guarantee and has a constitution comprising a memorandum and articles of association. The articles are adopted by the membership and approved by the Charity Commission which grants charitable status. Individuals in the Full member and Fellow grades (MAPM/FAPM) are statutory members of the company. In accordance with the articles, the board of APM also agrees regulations to cover detailed aspects of governance. This includes the matters that the board has devolved to staff of APM to undertake on its behalf.
APM has a board of 12 elected trustees (who must be Full members) and up to three appointed trustees.
The award-winning Association for Project Management has announced a record-breaking performance for the third year running. APM, who collected ‘Best UK Association’ and ‘Best Association Conference in London’ at the Association Excellence Awards in March 2016, enjoyed record membership levels, qualification candidates and revenue, as well as a sold out conference and awards.
