A guide to the Chartered application process​

A step-by-step guide to choosing your pathway, preparing evidence and getting ready for assessment.

Check you are ready​

Confirm you are professionally active, committed to CPD and working in line with the Code of Professional Conduct.​

Have your CPD log, certificates and two proposers considered early.​

Select project examples​

For Pathways 1 to 3, choose up to four sufficiently complex projects and write clear overviews.​

Each overview can be up to 500 words and should show your role.​

Write competence evidence​

Evidence the required competences using concise statements that link back to one project each.​

Each statement can be up to 250 words and must evidence at least four criteria.​

Submit and be assessed​​

Check your application, certificates, proposers, CPD position and payment before submitting.​

If Stage 1 is successful, you move on to the interview stage.​

Prepare for interview​

Expect questions on professionalism, CPD, current practice and the focus relevant to your pathway.​

Use “I”, be specific, and describe what you did, why, how and the outcome.​
